Love how people make claims saying based on the models when the models show more than they are claiming will happen.

Brick still think he’s a lock for 6-14”? I hope he’s got family in Roxboro

Thinking about driving to west jefferson or maggie valley. Wonder if freezing rain will be an issue at all from the triad area west as i drive?? Sleet and snow have been easy for me to navigate in, but taking no chances with fzrn

Wow Glenn burns got a new brain! He's actually talking sense saying we won't know until the day of.

I'm still taken aback that he actually said live on air that he expects N.GA to have a brutally cold winter (the worst he expects in January). Since when has he ever paid any attention to winter weather or the winter season overall?! Now severe weather on the other hand, there's not one severe weather event (long or short range) that shows up on the models that he doesn't leap out of his pants to make love to. lol

Yeah hes from Florida so winter weather isnt exactly his expertise.

I thought more folks around my way would be more excited about this opportunity instead of worrying about what could go wrong. We know Wake is always on the line. We know things can go wrong. But life still goes on. I think folks should just be happy to have a shot at seeing some snow around here the first week of December. That is very rare. And if the models are right, it could end up being a big storm. Maybe this is the one that makes up for the Dec 2000 bust. It is exciting to me to see what will happen. If it doesn't end up working out, oh well. On to the next one.

I wish I could be as positive as some people on this board. I just don't know how you can build positive experiences off of last second heart breaks when it comes to Winter storms. Some people are just positive no matter what on here, which irritates the negative people. Then the negative people irritate the positive people. I think people just handle situations or disappointments differently, not just with weather, but with anything in life. Can't get mad at someone being over positive or negative. They could live somewhere in the Midlands, who have been on the outside looking in for 5 years now. Surely you can understand how that can be frustrating.

Oh Brick, never change.

Bricks getting a foot now! SD, won’t that give you a foot too?

North and warmer. It’s coming. The writing is on the wall. EURO will tick just a hair north tonight keeping everyone sucked in but by 12z tomorrow this thing will be a major rainer for those sitting on the fringe and will have major rain/snow mixing issues for people who currently feel they have this thing in the bag. You heard it here first

As crazy as this may seem, power plant induced snow actually was observed today in eastern Nebraska according to local NWS.

This is a first for me lol. Sharon Harris needs to get with the program!

Wow thats awesome. Ive always wondered if that was possible. Ive driven under the clouds produced by the Harpersville steam plant on very cold days and watched carefully for any sign of a snow flake. I have also seen the plant create mini cumulus congestus before and that was cool.

I just pushed an emergency upgrade to the database due to connection errors.

Yeah it's off and on. The CPU usage was massive, but I'm not 100% sure it was on our end. I noticed another popular site was experiencing some issues around the same time as well.

Anyway, I've changed some settings around with what we have and I guess we will see how it behaves tomorrow. To be honest, we didn't have enough users online at once to cause what just happened unless allowing file attachments by our members caused it.
