Next year? March is the top ski month there. I’ve still got two trips planned there in the next three weeks! Go back!

You’re right, but even if it ends up overcast, the trip won’t be a waste as there’s still plenty to do. Like I said neither my wife nor I have ever been there

Hey man. It’s worth a shot. Avery county has done well this year. I’d imagine they’ll find a way to capitalize here as well. A day in the mountains beats a day at home. We’ll be leaving Saturday late afternoon but I just want to see something fly. Been a tough winter for Jimmy. I got 13” in Hendersonville back in 22’ then the following year in 23’ I got another 13” up at beech during MLK weekend and to date I’ve been shutout in 24’. Hoping to get my mojo back this weekend. Have fun buddy! Super Nino can’t hold us down forever!

Yep. This is one of those that seems to be trending upward til go time. NWS grid forecasts are slowly catching on. Hopefully trends continue. Trying to talk some friends into a quick day trip up to Carvers on Saturday.

My guess would be more +AO, faster more intense jet stream lifting north from it's climo position, maybe expanded Hadley cells.

Really need a little more context of the tweet

Not surprising here the gfs is decent with highs but warm on lows. Seems to be the new theme
 
I drove up to State College today. There was snow on the side of the road West Virginia northward. It was 35-37 degrees and rain for a good portion of that way. That’s a southeast level suckage

It was mostly sarcasm on “3” but I really hope we see a flip back below normal. I love the cool/cold nights.

The base is really strong. It won’t be in a few weeks. Great conditions tonight. As good as it gets in mid/late February. Wide open no crowds. I’m hauling ass 💀 these 35 year old knees still got it 🍺

Probably is true for most of the SE, but 2012 at least had this nuisance event for NC folks. Of course, by the same token, TN and N MS had a memorable storm this year, so on the whole I’d say this winter was better than 2012, 2022-3, etc.

I like it, then I dont feel like a pos for not wanting to go do anything or go outside. Especially in Spring/Summer when my wife wants to do 500 outside chores. I actually liked Covid times bc it made me feel like welp guess I cant leave the couch you know Hun its not safe and all. I Milked that as long as possible truthfully I could careless about the safety of it

If you are on the fence about traveling to see it, go! There won't be another CONUS total eclipse for 21 years.

Yeah it was an awesome to see. Just wasn’t pitch dark as many have described. I was in full totality for 2.5-3 minutes. These are shots during full totality.

Yeah I’m not really sure where the “pitch dark” idea comes from. Yes it’s dark, but there’s also some light because of the “360 degree” sunrise look that you see on the horizon in all directions… to me that was part of the uniqueness of the experience
