We had a backloaded winter! Lots of March and April snows. They 9” was to this date I believe! Ended up over 40” last yearMy God, I didn’t know last winter was so bad that you didn’t even top 10”…in IOWA ?
DeathWhat does it show
It’s a step up process. Mississippi first, kentucky next. Snow line retreats to the Great Lakes in late January. Then we walk it back down to Tennessee in early February then back up again into Ohio river valley then winter is over. Then we do it again next year.
Freezing rain into the French quarter and here I am sleeping with my bedroom window open
You nailed it. Saying we're getting table scraps would be a generous statement.8” of snow in Alabama today, freezing rain on the gulf coast Monday night, -12 in Knoxville Tuesday night and my consolation prize is **checks notes** a high of 34 Saturday
y’all, we winning over here
Not this day and age, any excuse possible.Kinda crazy some metro Atlanta schools are closed tomorrow.
Dekalb and Clayton counties aren’t even under the WWA and they called off school, just sillyNot this day and age, any excuse possible.

Nearly a half inch of 40 degree rain this morning here and its still pouring....most models had a tenth or less. Almost as if someone is rubbing it in on purpose at this point. I won't even get to see any real cold temps today unlike in the western half which will be in the upper 20s. Sigh.It really is mornings like these that keep the dry wall repair companies in business. Wintry precip into Mobile/Pensacola with a heavy rain shower streaming through the Carolina’s

We usually need a (strong) CAD. Yeah, a miller A system can work but that's tricky (winners and lots of losers). And, we're not even getting those with sufficient cold east of the mountains. The classic CAD setups have disappeared these past few years. With the forecast to go back into a la nina next winter, I feel like a Panthers fan looking at winning prospects for the upcoming few years.Yeah, nice mid 30s rain shower on the way in to work this morning. Artic plunge just took a hard stop right at the Carolinas, said nah this is far enough, lol. At least I continually learn what looks are NOT good for the Carolinas.
Agreed. I'm working pretty hard on fixing my climo (aka moving). Some of yall let climo whip your tail year after year and it leads to bitter posting and bitter casting. Do something about it instead of bitching.
When did southernwx start a mid Atlantic thread
NWS LWX extends down to very close to Richmond and well down the Shenandoah Valley. You can't tell me these places aren't 'Southern'.When did southernwx start a mid Atlantic thread
You're not in the south we get itYou guys got no snow. I get it.

Been looking at realtor.com a lot. I’ve got my eye on some homes on west facing slopes above 3000’ in the NC mountains.Agreed. I'm working pretty hard on fixing my climo (aka moving).
------ @Myfrotho704_View attachment 142647 Yeah right…

Given that the same model just had -1000 for a 30 day average I think we can safely feel okIf we should only use the CFS for pattern recognition, it doesn't look good for the next month:
Week two:

Week three:

Week four:

I guess you could say week four has a "more" el nino look to it, but at this point we're now getting into the later part of February. Another point is the CFS is not a great model so maybe this wont verify.
This is something I have always really wanted to see also!I wish ignore would ignore replies to the person you ignored.
Just passed a snow plow on 95 between Commerce, Ga and Seneca, SC… Georgia weather continues to kick me in the nuts
