Wintry January 14-16th storm potential.

It should the final wave is getting into Ark now. Radar should look better in the next 2-3 hours across N Al
WU radar looks fantastic for North Mississippi and Alabama. The colder air is slowly pressing south. You guys should be golden.

Surprisingly, FFC has added a 20% chance of rain/snow tomorrow morning even here. I'm certainly not expecting even a stray ice pellet here, but for areas to my W and NW, who knows?

how much of it is reaching the grown I have no idea but I40 in NC is literally the transition zone across the entire state. Not even speaking in weather talk. Go look at the radar and the rain and snow line is right on I40
I mentioned it in the January thread but it definitely looks like more moisture made it into NC this morning than models showed.

Probably half an inch up here in Gatlinburg this AM. It is mixing with freezing rain and sleet at times. This afternoon seems to be when the big show gets started with higher rates and all snow. I’m thinking we have a a pretty high ceiling. I am hoping for 5+. Very pretty this morning.

It did. slushed up the windshields and wet pavement good. overperformer. Cams had zilch and ops had about what showed up
Yeah it’s honestly why I’m a little bit intrigued about the system later this week. The ops and ensembles have started trending more moisture east of the mountains and soundings look supportive of snow if we can get deep enough moisture.
