I hear ya. My birthday is January 11th. The only time a decent snow has fallen at home in Charlotte within a day of my birthday was 2011 and I was at State at the time. Charlotte had 4 inches and the moisture from that storm mostly dried up before it made it to Raleigh. That was a rough one to watch from afar.My birthday is Saturday I've never seen snow in a time frame close to my bday or at least significant enough to remember. This is certainly a post that existsI’m not buying the snow solution either we need to rely on this big high cad in an otherwise gay pattern. We can get the temperatures at the surface and let the higher levels blaze. Then we will just need moisture which I will have more to talk about later this week. I could the setup favoring more east and less further west and north.
Wow, my birthday is also Jan 11th... no kidding.I hear ya. My birthday is January 11th. Yeah, I'll never forget it. Watched really nice radar returns pushing north, just to have them dissipate as it moved into much dryer air.I hear ya. My birthday is January 11th. The latest gfs says no on the torch for most of us east of the mountains. Plenty of upper 40's to low 50's for highs coming up. Very little wintry weather on it.Cold and wet gonna be the theme of the week ahead but I've almost all hope for wintry. I got outside stuff to do, ready for that torch
Welcome to the torch club! Glad to have you with usCold and wet gonna be the theme of the week ahead but I've almost all hope for wintry. I got outside stuff to do, ready for that torch
93 left a good many out in the Carolinas though. A storm as strong as that one was, tracking 75 miles SE of the superstorm track coming in Jan instead of March would get all of us. Except maybe south FLA.This foresaken winter would be a great time to get something historic like 93, then we’d all forget these past few that delivered nothing. Time will be running out soon.
I got about 4” with it, but the sheer monster of it and the wind made it memorable to me93 left a good many out in the Carolinas though. A storm as strong as that one was, tracking 75 miles SE of the superstorm track coming in Jan instead of March would get all of us. Except maybe south FLA.
People better be careful what they wish for. This looks to be a Perfect setup where a Crippling Ice Storm could very well be in the making for this weekendWe’re so down bad we’re wishing for a crippling ice stormView attachment 131716
Cause some people just doesn't care about the safety and well being of others, all they care about are themselves. Ice storms can be very deadly if Severe enough. And this is coming from me as have been an EMT and having to save lives out in the stuff.Never understood why people get excited over sleet or ice. All I care about is snow.
Personally I would rather have sleet than freezing rain. Sleet doesn’t cause as many problems I don’t think.Cause some people just doesn't care about the safety and well being of others, all they care about are themselves. Yes Sleet is better than ice but even sleet can wreak havoc on the RoadsPersonally I would rather have sleet than freezing rain. Sleet doesn’t cause as many problems I don’t think.
