Pattern July '22

And it doesn't look any better in the long range out your way unfortunately. I would hate to be working outside in that or almost doing anything. How much humidity do you have out there with this heat.

I can't speak for Texas today but up here we had a break today and it wasn't that bad actually but tomorrow and Wednesday yeah is gonna suck

It was so hot yesterday even with some sprinkles and dark clouds around lunch it still got to 105 and was the hottest day of the year so far. Tomorrow will eclipse that

We've been on the edges of heat waves all Summer.. Not the worst, but still a lil more humid than I'd care for.

Your exactly right. That was my point. You would be history.

Native Americans lived all over this continent for hundreds and thousands of years prior to the invention of AC or electricity for fans, let alone other hot and humid continents.

They even lived in the deserts of Egypt, Levant, and Arabia for Thousands of years in worse heat. I think we can survive a few months.

It costs energy to stay warm ( food to metabolize , wood / gas to burn , and cloth ). Doesn’t cost a penny to stay out the heat.

I’m thinking more in a homeostasis type of thing . If you had no tech you would survive the heat but not the cold . The cold will always require energy to survive .
So this is an apocalypse thread now :D I was wondering what you meant there. But yeah, you can technically survive in the heat with little energy, but man, that would be hard to go back to. We had no AC growing up. You get used to it, but it aint the best.

I remember when some of the state dorms didn't have AC

I agree about the Native Americans. We have no complaints compared to them. I was just referring to what would be worse as mentioned in the above posts. 48 hours with no power in a heat wave of temps over a hundred or below zero for 48 hours. I think the heat would be worse just my opinion, and I have survived for 39 years in these NC summers with or without power and Lord willing I hope to survive for many more.

Several at ECU also did not have AC, but by the 90's they almost all had window units....I fail to see how anyone can live in large apartment buildings in the kind of heat we are seeing in the mid west or probably more impactful UK etc.....at least the folks in the mid west are sorta kind use to big heatwaves.....the folks in the UK are roasting and have no real point of reference to how hellish the nights are without AC.
