Like him or not he's kind of brilliant
The goofs at Twitter who freaked out when he bought that big pile of stock dared him to do it. Even if he doesn’t buy Twitter he now knows he can pester and freak them out whenever he wants.
Edit: I mean look at the responses. Pure gold.
Does Elon really want to take this on...can't imagine Twitter accepting this. But if it does go through....it won't be good for Tesla.

Elon is a national treasure. We must protect this man at all costs.
Could just be his way out of his current position. Looks like he’s going to walk if the offer is denied.
If TWTR put itself up for sale you would think it can get a lot more than $40B....he's such an arrogant jack I can't imagine the board is hoping for Elon to rescue them. They would all be fired.
I wonder what you do you do here if you are Twitter, because if he buys it, he very well could shred everything they are trying to do. If you don’t, he has the money and influence to set up his own social media platform and just run you out of business.
I'm not to sure about to be honest, he isn't stupid and knows what he is doing.... Elon will be just fine and he is having fun do it. Good for him
He really has the upper hand here, if they don't accept and he dumps his shares, the selloff will be epic you watch. Does TWTR want that? I wish I had billions to mess with a company like that lol

This. Shares already dropped 10% from the highs. Elon pulling out could cause contagion for the stock.
SPY isn't going to break $440 today with 75k of OI on the $440 puts. But, it has a chance to climb to $450 if it can get over $445. I think ideally for the mm's they want something in between $440-$445.
added a small call spread for $TSLA today....lotto Friday. $1010/$1020 for a $1.50.
I don't think there is anyway Tesla closes below $1000....hoping for a run back to $1020 by EOD.

Is he? Seems more like his usual pump and dump type strategy that is eventually going to catch up to him and get him in trouble.

ES bounced right at $4415....clean pivot for the day to trade against now.
Not the move I was expecting this morning. Was looking for spy to backtest 442 then continue towards 445. Curious to see if we somehow regain 442 or if we continue back under 439.
I was gonna say, he has probably already sold most of his shares on the pump.
Added 2 more of the $1010's at $1. Just 4 at $1.25 avg. These never work out for me...probably will end up pissing away $500.
I think I am to add some $TWTR puts today for next Friday's expiration. What to do...

Buy outs often come with a significant premium over book value or market capitalization, though.

And with lot of downside protection at $440 for April opex it's much lower for May. $400 and $420's getting bought so opens up door to much lower on SPY.
So it’s time to buy calls? ?
The $44's are up almost 50%...$1.35 to $2.
This would be so dumb to panic sell to Musk for $40B.
