18Z GFS gave me 13" of rain total for the run......the 00Z GFS gives my .21" for the entire run, so from a foot to nothing in one run, GFS must think its winter already.....

Eps really cools late in its run not sure if it's a mirage. It's not buoyed down by any weird extremely cool members and is decently clustered for d10+. Just hope it's not the eps doing what the eps does at times where the long range heads back toward normal but ends up way off
The very late Thursday night into Saturday afternoon really has my attention for this area. The evolution of the coastal low and the upper low getting elongated and potentially closing off or sliding south may really ramp up rain chances and totals during that period
Yard is washed out. Drip guards aren’t working either. FML this is a lot of rain.

Very little 30 miles to your east and models trending drier. Will be lucky to get .25 out of the entire event. I would not be shocked if we stay completely dry here from now right through the weekend.

1.26in so far at the house when I left for work.
Not gonna have any rain here at this rate models showed thunderstorms here last night only for nothing to happen

That's clearly wrong now since heavier amounts are definitely making their way further east in GA. If you look at that map, Athens would get almost nothing, yet it's getting pummeled atm.

At 2.5 for the event so far and with what some of the models are showing ahead we're probably going to easily hit 5 or 6 by the end of the week.

Yeah, i'm at 3" total since yesterday. If it trains over my house, we could easily be at 5" before it's all said and done. I think if we stay under 8" for a 48 hour period, we should be able to avoid flooding issues, at my house anyway.

I have had off an on rain sunday night through yesterday and got close to an inch. Now it has been raining nonstop for several hours, starting overnight. Now we're up to an inch and a half.

Coming up on 1.5 inches back home since midnight. Always interesting to watch these multi day rain events and see how much ends up falling. About 2 inches in total so far.
It sucks that we are pinning our hopes now at the end of the week into the weekend that setup is so touchy it can easily go dry.

Hmm. If the HRRR is anywhere near right northern Georgia could have some problems by tomorrow. It basically keeps a stream of rain coming in from the south for the next 30+ hours.
That band tomorrow between around 12z and 20z is impressive

It's right for most of NC and SC and I think it's actually too wet east of I-77. Gonna be like Sept 2009 except that GA does not get nearly as much rain as they did then.
The rain definitely setup shop more east then modeled, but still widespread over an inch.
In true JHS fashion, we are rocking 0.24” here at home

You are in a great spot. Still not a drop since yesterday here and ground is barely even wet. This event is over from Union and Cherokiee counties and east in SC.

I’m starting to wonder if there could be a small tornado risk tomorrow in addition to the heavy rain. Although the Nam is probably being to aggressive here. The Hrrr was showing some small signs as well.
This doesn’t result in a vigorous fropa east of the apps
