I know it's supposed to be all doom and gloom but that's a pretty potent looking band forming up over North Wilkesboro on radar right now.
They’re not changing their totals. Temps are falling quite in line with forecast.
And my power is out lol, decently strong winds so I’m not surprised

Definitely getting melting flakes in the rain. Ran puppy outside real quick. Wind is up as well. Hopefully this can flip while under these echoes an isotherm the column. Needs to hustle up

I'm down to 35.6 and it's still mostly rain with a few flakes here and there.
45 degrees here. I’ve got a pot of coffee going and firewood stacked in the garage. Ready for the snow. The anticipation is killing me.

Getting close to all snow now 35.4 degrees. fat flakes.

I hope this event happens because I want the GFS to start to outperform these foreign models, finally, in the longer range when it comes to things like this. And this is a good test to the previously thought horrible/snowhappy GFSv16 by many.

It's mostly snow and 34.2 but its obvious that there will be no accumulation here.

Doppler radar confirms that the snow level is lowering rapidly, and the changeover to snow should occur in the Triangle within the next hour. Since this is such a quick hit, any delay in the transition to snow will cut back on the snow accumulations, but at least at this moment, I still feel good about the 2-4" projection. Another Facebook live coming up at 1:15AM with radar, satellite, surface observations, and anything else I can get my hands on!
