WSB kids changed the game that’s what happened ! Stocks don’t work like they used to and neither does the weather .I remember way back when....models agreed on a 3-5” event...and a 3-5” would occur. ?
Where did it all go wrong
I ain't worried yet. RAH still has 1-2'' around here overnight. If they reword that to a dusting on "especially grassy areas" before now and 3am, then that's different and I know the writing is on the wall.

My temp has dropped to 42.1/40.1--a full degree colder than HRRR sounding for my location for 10 pm. I don't know if it matters, but it seems to me that a degree or two at the surface can make a difference once 850s drop below freezing (scheduled for ~11pm). It's better than running a degree warmer, at least.
The backend stuff is moving out a little bit faster vs the hrrr, as usual

Sprinkling a little bit here in Durham. Trying to decide whether to go to bed now and try to catch a couple hours of sleep and get up a midnight, or if I should just stay up. Not sure I’ll be able to sleep even if I try to go to bed...

1 inch of snow,down the gutter. So frustrating
Gotta get the wetbulb down to 35 territory for it to make it to the ground. Think i read that from Greg Fishel post earlier,maybe it was grit.
I'm not liking the trend for the first hour or two of snow to be dependent on rates via the HRRR. I'm not buying that considering that 925s are a degree below freezing, and the SFC temps are in the mid-30s.
Yea, lgt rain just started over here at the Wake/Durham line.
Sleep is futile. Might as well accept it.
This trend is carrying on into later hours
