When I was in La Fayette, GA this weekend, it was almost as if nothing was going on. The hotel lobby was closed (despite the hotel being open, and having been open all along), we sprayed a good bit of Lysol when we first entered our room, but otherwise it was mostly normal. Maybe it was the time period that I headed out, but I would say 90%+ of people (outside of some workers, and some of them had their mask around their neck) weren't wearing masks when I went in two stores for a short time. It makes you wonder some, although back in April you probably did have several more wearing masks.
The hotel parking lot was pretty filled up for a small town.
Having said all that, like I had alluded to earlier, most of our time was spent either in the hotel or in/around my aunt/grandma's house. When we were out on the road and not in town, we only made 2 stops combined. Had brief contact if anything with anyone outside of family and 2 good friends.
My aunt had made my grandma wear a mask and gloves to go to Walmart, but she also talked about how their area hasn't had many issues, and about coming down when the high risk shelter in place ends.
