Brazil reports 10,528 new cases and 987 new deaths.
Worldometers just updated again and has Brazil with 16,260 new cases and 1,118 deaths. Looks like it may overtake the US in the next few days with the daily max cases and deaths.

So, I just applied to a COVID-19 related job at one of the hospitals in this area (it said tent team). I half-wonder if I might actually get this job, considering that most probably aren't interested. Might at least get an interview.

(I would be totally fine with it honestly, I'm trying to go back to school but I'm really not sure I'll be able to get in because they have so few spots for this program and it's been that way for a few years)

Interesting studies, just posting what I’m reading so take it as you will.

New Standford study has IFR 0.02 to 0.4%, Spain antibody study had below 70 years old ~0.1% and Denmark antibody study had below 70 years old at 0.08%.

+422 cases, 10,122 tests (third highest daily total), around 4% positive test rate, and 544 hospitalizations (down from 585) for today in NC.

Seen this story this morning on twitter feed. I know nothing about the newspaper and I’m not siding with either, just posting because this seems to be another strike against Georgia and their number reporting. I think we’re going in the right direction like alot of other Georgia posters here have said, hospital rates are dropping.

Very limited beds in Winston-Salem. I have family there that can’t get out of ICU floor because there are no regular beds available. A second person died from Wilkes in Winston hospital today reported but not related to my family.

WXII12 Breaking News: Multiple cases of COVID19 in Wilkes County Day Care. Several children and adults.

All children in the daycare ordered to isolate for two weeks. Their essential parents will be in a bind. Wilkes officials refuse to comment and the daycare had yet to be declared an “outbreak”. WXII12 sticking their nose where it don’t belong.

This appears to be confirmed. And egregious. You could do 20000 antibody tests and 5 sick tests and report 2 positives and then everybody cheers. Thinking out percent positive number is .01, when in fact it would be 40 percent. This is very uncomfortable news when one is attempting to sift through politics and just look at data, when the data given is this flawed.

New Permanent closures: Ruby Tuesday of Mount Airy and Ruby Tuesday of Clemons in Forsyth County. Corona is to blame according to company statement.

NC Gov. Cooper is announcing the move to the move to Phase 2 as of Friday at 1 PM. Bars/clubs/etc. will remain closed, which is a modification from the original Phase 2. Gyms will stay closed. Seems like they’re troubled by the rising case count.

So basically eating out at 50% and hair and nail places at 50% is only major changes?

Interesting about the gym part maybe bigger gyms will reopen anyway from what I heard.
