Only a few flakes here and precip winding down.
Yeah, latest HRR still wants to put nearly another 0.4” QPF down before the end here, though, so I’ll hug that. Looks like the accumulating snow will be done by 10, though (obviously not so further east).
On another note, moderate/heavy snow under the streetlights is so striking.

Can’t say how it will do downstream but back this way the precip ended about 2 hours earlier than HRRR indicated.
Since the sun is going down, feel good about getting 0.5 - 1” of snow or so, rates were heavy but accums would go above a dusting, now with nighttime that should be much easier, still moderate snow falling, and I’ve noticed the ground whitening up a lot more the past 30 minutes or so, daytime really took a toll on the snow tho 
I don’t think this is going to materialize the way a lot of people may have thought it would. I think tonight someone in the coastal plains of NC might max out at 4-5 inches. But I think that’s it.
Hrrrrr always keep precip going too long. Cutting 2 hours seems about right. It would be nice to see the pivot begin soon.
I'm closing in on 2". Still coming down nicely. I would assume I'm getting 10:1 ratios right now with freezing temps and a snow base. Hopefully I can get another 2" before it ends, but that will be pushing it.

I have my eye on that deform band forming in SE KY/ East Tennessee. Going to try and sneak another half inch out of that.

I’ve changed over to a snow/sleet mix now in Hope Mills. I already have a light dusting of sleet accumulation on elevated surfaces

Congratulations to the big snow winners today. Warm nose killed us here in Pickens county. Saw rain snow mix a few times. But that’s it. Looks like that 2.5 inches a couple weeks ago will be the only measurable snow I get this year.

A solid .75” of snow here in Indian Trail, if we can get some more over the next 4 hours we could total around 1.5” which is decent if you ask me.
Still decently snowing here. A few fatties mixed in with the smaller flakes. 1 inch total roads are getting mushy
If we can get that pivot from the coastal low, we might do better than that. Especially, with the sun going down.

Still a little early in the game here, based on radar I would not be surprised to see the highest totals SE of PGV by about 20-30 miles. I do agree, this is looking more like a 3-5" upper end event compared to 8". I would be surprised to see any 7-8" totals confirmed.

Starting to see 2" reports popping up on GR2A around Greensboro to Roxboro.
Nice! It may be picking up a little here, too. I’m feeling pretty good about my expectations for 2-4” here. I wish the road would get whitened, though.
Too bad ratios are crappy and warmer soil temps and near freezing temps are causing a lot of melting as the snow is falling. At least it’s dark now. This is one of those beautiful snows that sticks to everything.I think we probably have something around an inch here, but I haven’t measured. I’m 12 miles WNW of KRDU as the crow flies.
My parents are still reporting light snow in NE High Point.
Nice, yeah you have to be careful with snow and radar as you can get some pretty good rates without much radar representation. And sometimes what looks like impressive snow on radar is just bright banding.
Lightening up here, doubt we have snow thru 10. Awesome rates earlier though! Prob .25” or so.

1.5" just outside chapel hill measured on elevated surface. 33*. well traveled road is getting slushy, and the pines/cedars are heavy with snow..

It's hard to know how much has accumulated, close to 2 inches on the picnic table and maybe a half inch on the driveway

No skin in the game, but I think when the shield pivots and you get some back building those back bands are gonna be the money makers for you NC folks.

Still a nice easy rain here in Elizabethtown NC. 37 degrees and falling slightly. Just starting to see flakes trying to mix in.

After Nam was further north with that crazy band it looks like it may set up from Fayetteville to kinston and east.

You can see where the axis of heaviest precip is. You feel like it would have to pivot more SW to NE soon for places like Raleigh eastward to get in on the really heavy rates.
