Crazy precip variation in Upstate SC - how does that even happen?

Frank, this puts both of my other snow events to shame. Wind driven snow at times. Just no accums ?Crazy precip variation in Upstate SC - how does that even happen?
small wet flakes.... totals going to be weak sauce (wake county)... guessing Ratio probably 5:1 maybe
Webb do you anticipate some back building with this back edge of the snow and is that going to produce these heavy bands we’re watching out for?
The cc line is racing south now towards FAY

Looking at the NWS radar, it looks like decent echos are showing up over eastern Wake. Not the dark greens or yellows, but decent returns nonetheless. Maybe it intensifies later. Idk

That’s kinda how it was here. Snowed about all day but didn’t amount to very much as the rates were intermittent. Maybe you will get lucky with higher rates especially after dark.Tiny flakes here now....meh
Not as far off the coast as this one is. You’d want it maybe just off the coast 50 miles, not 250. CLT precip will be mainly from the overrunning event sliding through now.Can we even get snowfall from a coastal back in the CLT metro?

Looks like to our south instead of west. Hope that makes its way up here.Yeah, trying to figure out where that 1 inch per hour snow is.
Absolutely, with the coastal low development just off Savannah, it can help enhance the moisture temporarily especially for SE Mecklenburg, Southern Cabarrus, Union and Stanly Counties. The low developing in that area just seems to allow these locations to get in on the deform band for a time. December 2010 is a great example of this. I’ve been wondering all day if that is what the HRRR is picking up on with that higher lollipop in Union County. Watch the radar for the next couple of hours and look for signs that the back edge is pivoting it’s directionCan we even get snowfall from a coastal back in the CLT metro?
