Wintry February 19-21, 2020 Winter Storm

Back edge is nearing Yancey Co and the latest HRRR moves it east of the Triad by 8pm. We might eek out 1" if we're lucky. Rates have definitely slowed. Flakes are small and not as numerous as before.

Total Storm Event: 2-4” in areas of the mountain counties to half inch to 2” in the foothills. Lowest totals closer to i77 particularly Iredell I noticed up to Yadkin County areas.

For us in the Triad and west, this is not our storm but we should not begrudge those down East because they often get shafted while we clean up. Good to see a lot of peeps here FINALLY get some real snow and things have a way of evening out so our time will come. Happy for all you Triangle and east guys, hope you get gobsmacked!

Just over 1" in Summerfield, NC about 9mi NNW of GSO....snow coming down at a decent rate but small flakes...I suppose another inch or so is likely. Tomorrow morning is going to be slick on the roads but they are just wet now.

This is the first measurable snow since Dec 2018

@Webberweather53 CC line is almost right on top of me ripping sleet atm, I'll let you know if anything changes.

This is good to hear. KFAY is down to 36F, I expect a changeover here at my place around 7pm with snow lasting til at least midnight. 2” seems like a decent bet
