Don't you think you live in the wrong part of the country to love snow and hate ridges?
I’m not like you. I don’t think negative thoughts all the time..... and to answer your question nope. It’ll snow again down here and when it does it’ll be magical

It's not being negative unfortunately, it's being a realist. I can be optimistic if I need to be. So far this winter has provided nothing of the sort. But I don't think optimism or pessimism either one will matter much. The future weather pattern is already written, we just can't predict it.

It's not pessimism folks! It's what me and many others believe. This winter is on life support! I don't need a model to tell me the base state this winter isn't favorable for us. Winter isn't a transition season like spring and fall and the pattern usually keeps repeating. For as many years as I've been watching weather very few have a large scale pattern flip mid winter. Winters like this we have to score when the base state relaxes and reshuffles. So far we havent and as strong as the STJ is it's really hurting getting enough cold down here when the pattern does relax like now. I'll keep watching and hoping to score a storm like everyone else. But a sustained cold and stormy pattern is very unlikely and I wouldn't be surprised one but to see a return of the western trough in February.

Wait. You are right. Winter is over south of Tennessee and North Carolina.
Dude nobody said it wouldn't snow. But a snowstorm doesn't make or break a winter. There is virtually ZERO chance this winter as a whole finishes anything other than a torch regardless of what Feb does. I don't know what's so hard to accept about that.

Okay dude. Whatever you say

Lol some of y’all crack me up..... y’all will be complaining in the summer wanting winter back when it’s 95-100 degrees every day

Nope. I love going to the pool. I hope for hot and dry summer. Pool time, greens will be fast and beer is better tasting when it hot. I want snow as well but some of us believe we won’t see snow. We can agree to disagree. It’s ok.

I like playing golf but I sure don’t like playing when it’s 95 degrees all the time.......

I'm not trying to argue here. I get you're an optimist but if you're optimistic about a cold winter then it just isn't happening. Just look at the numbers. We would have to go in the deep freeze now and stay there until the end of February to have a chance and there is no sign of that happening.

Regardless of what March does it's not a winter month. The snowfall would go on the season but winter is DJF and the last what 9 or 10 have been AN? And that's not just a coincidence in my opinion. Its obvious something has changed with our climate. And whether its cyclical or not is another debate for a different thread. If me always saying warmth wins out everytime offends anyone then maybe they should ignore me.
