It's only a few weeks, Cold returns in Jan and stays.
Personally I hope the cold is more transient in Jan and Feb. I don't really care for non-stop cold. Btw what happened to the idea that this would be a backloaded winter ? Looks like with this storm coming up we are in for a front loaded winter just like last year !

Backloaded for sure, this is one shot and I think we will have 2-4 Jan- March.
I just cant see the south getting 1-2 feet of snow in Early December followed by 2-4 more major snows ! That would be a winter for the ages !

As per usual we need the low in Fla. not crossing Ga. If the cad is strong enough it can fight the waa, even into Ala. if it's a super cad, but not with the low going across Ga. To close to the fire for Ga. and Ala.

Looks like temps will warm for the new couple weeks after this coming storm starting the following week, regardless of what Cohen says. Should turn cold after the 3-4th of January looking at the movement of the high in Canada to a more favorable spot and the low over Alaska retrograding to the SW. Don't see any sign of major blocking though.

The warm-up that was progged to last a few weeks is turning into just a few days on NWP and mild-cool/stormy pattern already trying to make a triumphant return on the EPS after we cross the midway point in the calendar month.
