I can already give you a March play by play. Teles turn favorable. Models pop storms inside 7 days showing some solid snow into upstate SC only for the words “climo favored areas have a real shot.” to come into the conversation. Then as we move closer to verification it’s a Roxboro special and ? still sees wet snow. All is right in the weather world
 
So I guess our big Arctic outbreak of the winter is sunny weather with highs in the low 40s and lows in the mid-20s. Even last winter we had a day with a high below freezing and a low in the teens. This January will probably be the warmest on record for many areas in the southeast US.

Well the CFS would be really good and it would be a major bust for both Euro and GFS. I just can’t believe both models could be that wrong.

Someone answer this. What does phase 5,6,7,8 have to do with us getting snow? What is the difference between phase 5 and phase 8?

Phase 3,4,5,6 has convection (heavy rain/storms) around Australia and the maritime which basically supports a SER and trough in the western United States which is bad for cold and snow around the east coast

edit: this is a very rudimentary description
