I hate winter with a passion more and more everyday, can’t get a coastal to come back but everything else will, it really seems like bad luck, just please spring hurry up

I HATE HOT WEATHER with a passion. I LOVE WINTER WEATHER with more passion! But I'm about to agree with you here, It's so darn frustrating can't buy one tiny winter event..........................

Honestly we may not see any snow at all especially after how last winter went down and there's definitely some similarities from last winter.... this winter looking like it's going to be far worse... He'll what do I know I could be wrong and be eating my own words if it snows

So went back and looked to see the longest stretch of no snow fall at the ATL recording location. Longest I found was 10 years. So this bad stretch isn’t really bad YET.

1996-2006? If so that's not accurate. There was a big snowstorm post New Years Day in 2002 (January 2-3, 2002) I remember that vividly as a kid. I think there was measurable snow in. Atlanta in 2000, 2001, and 2004 if I'm not mistaken. I think the worst snowless streak for Atlanta this century is about 4 years (2005-2008).

This is directly from NOAA for Hatsfield-Jackson Int'l Airport for the month of January 2002. They received 4.6 inches of snow on the 2nd-3rd of January 2002. So with that being the case, Atlanta hasn't gone a decade without measurable snow from the mid 90s - mid 00s.

EDIT: Actually 4 inches officially on the ground observed.

So I’m asking a simple question I want a yes or no answer. I’d do a poll if I could.

Will it snow in the southeast areas of upstate sc midlands or coastal South Carolina north Georgia Atlanta area south. Will it snow in any of these areas this winter Yes or No?

ATL still recorded at least a trace during that span
04-05: 0.5”
05-06: T”
06-07: 0.1”
07-08: 1.4”

ATL hasn’t gone 2 years without at least a trace of snow since before the period of record which is 1931. If ATL remains snowless this year, that record will be broken.

The last time ATL was snowless before last year was 1936-37

Well, there’s always Hurricane season. It’s sad that i spent more time tracking that then I did snow so far. My hopes are on March.

to get snow in the southeast, you gotta get some PVC pipe, cold water, tight pressure nozzle, point it at a 45 degree angle, this is how you get moisture and cold to produce snow in the SE !

If we get a nice cold and dry cold blast I’ll actually consider doing this

I'm very much interested in this as well. My kids are out of school Monday for MLK and I'm off work. We've got the time and cold air coming. Time to start watching YouTube.

Any advice on how to build a snow maker?

Here’s the cheapest one I could find, but here’s the vid

You could easily find these at a local Home Depot, this way would probably take a long time since it’s only one nozzle, but there’s also a way ------------- does it

Although depressing now ... we will score one this winter we still have all of February and even early March to score some fun events this winter can and will be the definition of BACKLOADED

We had about a half inch of snow in November that actually hung around for about 3-4 days. I guess this year could have been worse. LOL!
