Honestly even though I had to snow chase to north Carolina... This winter in my book still has been an F grade in my book in particular for my area in Alabama along I-20.... and from Dallas down I-20 to Birmingham the western part of the southeast has been tough...

Been an F in my part of the upstate too. 0 accumulating snow here and way above average temps.

In my continuing 10-year quest to learn enough to one day be able to add something of value to this board besides obs - can someone clarify for me why the 540 line is in central FL on this map but the precip type is showing rain in GA?

I think you would find 1000-850 mb thicknesses to not be supportive of snow, indicating the BL is the issue. I don't know if that's realistic given how low 1000-500 mb thicknesses are, but that seems to be what it's showing. Maybe precip rates are light.

I fly from Wilkesboro to Statesville to Mount Airy to Boone. I’m not attached to any one place or elevation.
Realistically, starting today, how long could we go without a drop of rain in the Carolinas before we reach moderate drought conditions? Pull the calculator out

75 days...maxed out water table would do well but spring green up, increasing sun angle and temps would put a lid on it

[QUOTE="Myfrotho704_,

The snow predictions would be centered a bit Northwest of where they currently are. But at the same time maybe I wouldn't have to read " Brushy Mountains" and Bojangles every other sentence.

Water table is 6” above the ground. I couldn’t set a forest fire with a 55 gallon drum full of kerosene ??‍♂️
