13 years ago today. My all time favorite storm for a lot of different reasons. Fond memories with my old shep. I still remember that morning walk through the woods like it was yesterday. 
It's always the control run.
It's because it's a reduced resolution out in time. The control run is basically the Euro version of the Dgex. Think of it as a better brand of stupid.
Whenever I see a control run of any model posted; I know that all hope is basically lost.

06z control run will out-verify the 00z OP every time... it's got a 6 hour advantage. So you have to take it at face value, imo.

I mean i'd agree with you if we were comparing an 6z 144hr panel of the operational to the a control run... but we don't have that.
