Next 16 days on the GEFS…we aren’t good at this snow thing in NC(outside the mountains)
 
It’s so over. The good thing is you will have until about mid March to chase snow into areas above 4,500 feet. Which is a win imo. Better get to planning.

I’m slowly learning what it’s like to be in an environment where it hasn’t snowed in 2 years

I hope the mods have help wanted signs up now for the euphoria, pain, and suffering that is about to ensue in a couple weeks

Probably in my lifetime tracking snow in the southeast will be a lost art. When I’m old like Metwannabe people won’t even remember what it used to take to get snow around here. They’ll be like “Y’all really used to base your snow chances on the PNA and NAO? Lol.”

This is why you won’t see me in the pattern thread discussing 1100 hour model runs. 120 hour runs are trash and even when H5 means look pretty we find plenty of ways to ruin it.

Sometimes snowstorms can extend south to the Florida panhandle in boardwide events.
 
It's like nothing is learned via experience these days.

This "great" pattern showing up in the longer range will end up transient and missing out again. There is nothing that stands out to me of actually producing much of anything.

The machine learning models say welcome to Spring; and I am with them.

A good snowstorm is a lot like a vacation. A lot of the fun is in the anticipation leading up to it: then, if you’re like me, there’s a lot of doom and dread about leaving once I’m there. Then when I get home, I’m ready to go back.

Nope. There’s nothing better than a good snow at your own house. Especially if you have kids. Playing outside with them is the best. I have 3 and 2 that are still little so I have some years left. But I’m losing them fast so I wish whatever curse we are under down here will end soon.

There’s no such thing as a great pattern anymore. Things don’t work like they used to.
