Look at all that convection robbing my moisture! Very impressive dynamic radar! 38C6196F-E2A8-4815-B90E-47E6CDFC67DC.png

In my experience with these events, if you're in northern SC/CLT/Upstate, you really want these models spitting out solutions that put frozen precip down to i-20.

What usually happens, as we get closer to the event, is the frozen precip starts moving north away from 20 and you need to watch those along that area to cliff dive to feel comfy further north.

What I basically mean is, being on the edge 5 days out usually is a problem.

This storm about to bust as hard as a JB winter outlook! Picked up 2-3”, don’t see the big totals comingDDC21B2F-FCB6-4FB7-AB4E-B1C344B33ACC.pngF39636C7-6059-45B0-9E91-941834672CEB.jpegDDC21B2F-FCB6-4FB7-AB4E-B1C344B33ACC.png3F48C16D-CB4F-4D09-8D4B-2FF9FB0A62B4.jpeg1284AE5F-C721-41B1-B43D-5F09E9423C74.png

Yeah join the club man. Absolutely embarrassing trends here we've gone from people talking about a big storm Sunday to maybe if we're lucky another stupid dusting which is apparently all we can get this winter. I feel like I'm back in Dallas or Alabama. It's just ridiculous at this point

I never thought the EPS could fail this bad I mean it had unanimous support for something decent several runs

I don't really know how many more times I want to sit here and do this if its just gonna end up like this. It shouldn't be this hard to get real snow here

The good ole days.

Georgia Weather History for January 12th

In 1982, a freak snow storm, now known as Snow Jam, occurred in the Atlanta metro area at rush hour. Up to 6 inches of snow fell quickly in the afternoon bringing traffic to a halt. Stories of people leaving their cars and walking home were quite common across the Atlanta area as most, if not all roads, were blocked or impassable.
