The GFS is now in range for the Canes’ February 18 Stadium Series game at Carter-Finley. Hoping we don’t get a 75 degree rain. Too bad the GFS is poop.

If it can snow deep into South TX it can snow in the FL panhandle.
It snowed in the Florida panhandle in January 2018. It was Tallahassee’s first measurable snowfall in 23 years. Jacksonville also got 1-2” of snow in 1989, and Pensacola got a pretty decent ice storm in 2010, as well.

Fun up on Beech today. Looks like most of that manmade snow is just blowing away.

Don’t forget the 2014 Ice storm. There were winter storm warnings for the entire FL panhandle.

More pictures from the ice storm.
These are blurry cause I was driving but everything remained cased in ice last night.

This is from this morning with sun finally out glistening off the ice in the trees. Temp is 29 at noon so probably will have another day of at least some ice remaining on the trees. We’ve had ice / ZR on the trees here since Monday night so pretty much all week. I’ve had snow on the ground this long but don’t ever remember having ZR remain in the trees this long.

Good point, yes! It seems like it’s easier for the panhandle to get icing events than snow, unfortunately. Usually when they see snowfall it’s just flurries. :(

Nice, I hope there’s some snow left when I go skiing in a few weeks. ?

Look how bad the 1990s were:

And, for Greensboro, at least, the 2010s were actually a pretty good snow decade. ?‍♂️

The last decade before this one was honestly the best since the 80s.

Agree, although it seemed like the 2010s snows were marginal temped, whereas the 80s snows were colder. It would take Webb and others to verify that though, as I’m going off of memory and feel so to speak.

How can anybody live in iowa in winter?? It’s sooooo cold! ?????????3B7AA6C4-E9A9-467A-8EDB-B6D4068210A5.png

Does anybody have a good site for tracking the Chinese balloon. It may pass right over some of us today. I found some sites, but they're static and don't get updated.

Mount Washington recorded a new record low of -47.1 this morning breaking the old record of -32.

North Carolinas historical record low is -34 in 1987. So before last night we had Mount Washington beat.
