Misc Winter 22-23 Whamby and Banter Thread Part 2

I think I’ve had my fill of winter weather. Pre Christmas cold snap was pretty epic. 10-12” of snow up at Beech a month ago with subzero wind chills. And a great day up at Cataloochee today with heavy wet snow falling from the time we got there til the time we left. I’m at peace with what this winter was. Caribbean cruise with the wife in a month ? Can’t get here fast enough.

Why did we do away with the emoji’s?? I missed something.
Because we do what everybody does now, cater to the lowest common denominator. 98% of people can't enjoy nice things because of the 2% of wieners. But that's how the world works now.

I'm new here and was just wondering Which Models was the most accurate for this storm? Honestly I think the CMC had the best handle on it. I'm in Nine Times in the upstate and had .70" of Rain. Had Sleet yesterday evening for couple hours. Got down to 38° was lowest Temp I had. Pretty miserable Storm that was just a few Degrees away from being a Big winter storm

I'd assume the UKMET, but someone with better archives could answer better. I just remember it being less snowy than others.

Welcome spring!

This is kind of how I've seen this winter. IMO, it hasn't been an all out torch, or very warm, just not cold enough to snow. Boring.

I wonder how many years we've seen a similar typology, with cold out west, warmer east.
Idk December helped skew that down. Jan was an all out torch. +5.2 here. Feb is +3.8 and this week will push it into +5 territory most likely. Not the warmest on record but definitely a torch. Anything more than +5 is a weenie roast.

Yeah, I feel it goes both ways with the skew....a few really warm days and the rest kinda close to average. To me, highs in the mid 50s for instance is not really a torch, though its numerically above. Again, Im speaking not numerically, just how it feels to me. There were highs and low peaks mixed in but I just don't recall prolonged excessive torches like in super ninos, for instance.
