On a dry soil that has become hydrophobic, stratiform is the best. You may only get .3 or .4, but it'll do a lot more than a 30 minute deluge that drops 1.3. A 30 minutes dump just goes Woosh into the ditch.

And plus a widespread tropical system is significantly more effective then your scattered pop up storm

Yeah there’s a difference between a few spots seeing 2-3 inches of rain vs an entire area seeing 2-3 inches of rain

Looks like another failure for upstate SC. Downsloping killing anything that tries to form. 1 more shot tomorrow then dry at least through next Friday and probably longer.
