Yeah not a classic for us on the Euro baggy trough to the west and bermuda ridge off shore not a hot setup. Need the heat ridge in the southern rockies or Texas then an eastward extension into the SE. That's my concern for July into August as the subtropical ridges reach their peak and the jet reaches its min we might be able to do just that. Interesting month ahead to see which way it goes.
 
Euro/eps are trying to fiddle around with the mjo in p3 while the gfs motors along. Phase 3 is one of the hotter mjo phases for JJA in the SE and wouldn't you know looking at the eps plots by day 10 and after members are starting to show 95-105 but the mean is pretty tame
 
@Myfrotho704_ is absolutely right this summer has been an absolute dumpster fire in regards for storms. Couldn't even score yesterday and we sure as hell are not going to score today. I guess if we want storms we need to go to the NE. Who would of thought? We better damn well get something Thursday/Friday/Saturday or I am going to lose it.

Yep if we don't score Thursday/ Friday it'll be next Thursday Friday before we can get back into scattered stuff. Yay summer fronts

That’s what happens when our typical summer pattern is shoved to the NE. They have been baking in humid mid 90s last few days. Cool weather worth the price of storms ? You decide !!!
 
Tomorrow has some potential to exceed any forecast temp wise.

850s around 20c should get most of NC into the 90-95 range tomorrow as you go north into VA 850s get into the 22-24c range so 94-97 in places like Richmond. If we can keep CU at bay I could see RDU around 95 tomorrow as the ceiling

The fireworks shrapnel, is blocking out the sun. Happens every year! Kind of like what killed the dinosaurs!

Have a good deal of CU here right now. None look to develop though.
 
You have to love days like today. Anytime the winds are south or east, we get these bubbly cu's with blue skies. Just need to pop some storms. Had a few yesterday, just too localized to get some rain.

Well I like that big heat always likes to stay in the long range .. heat lovers can watch and enjoy from a distance
