You can find them above that if you dig deep enough. When they did the stormwater tunnel for Cobb County a few years back they found fossilized sea shells deep down and Cobb is mostly around 1000' elevation.You can find marine fossils up to the fall line. I never tried exploring the little river or moccasin creek for fossils. What do you look for ? Do you dig in or something ?

Atlanta’s mean annual maximum is like 98 degrees , 100 prolly happens , without checking here you can verify , probably once every 3-4 years on average .It would be nuts if Fargo hit 100 this year and Atlanta didnt
Had a beautiful storm here in Zebulon earlier , fields and woods fogging up ! Evapotranspiration . Summer is heaven , it never ever gets old every storm every 40k foot cloud top lit orange during sunset .... never ever fails to excite !
