Misc Stock Market

I'm doing okay today. Going to liquidate some of my shares in CPE, but want to hedge my bets cause I bought some of these stocks low enough to hang on until the medium or long-range. I've never been so uncomfortable with the state of the country. All the awful consequences I predicted about the shutdown are bubbling up.

Dow is at a new high since the COVID related plunge. Can it get to 25K? I’d think that would be a psychologically important milestone.

The GDP report was pretty bad, even vs expectations I saw, but the good Gilead treatment news, possibly aided by the Oxford University vaccine news about a potential vaccine by September, may be the key factors overriding the bad GDP news.

I am still one of those holding onto CPE for the long run. It has been on quiet a run here lately and I am well into the green now with it.
 
Hallmark Financial with a major pop this morning. Too bad I liquidated on Monday to move my earnings into a ------ stock ?
 
Dow now up 635, at high of session! It is now over 24.7K. Will it reach 25K today? Any predictions?

25K would mean a recovery of nearly 7K from the intraday COVID low back in March.
 
Bought into SSL about a week ago and just took profits. Bought at 2.97 sold at 5.08. support seems to be around 3.00. Hit my sell order a little below the 50 day Moving Average. it's so hard to price these oil stocks because they have been in such unprecedented territory.
 
Nice! I was watching Delta today and it took off, ha, but didn't take trade. Don't quite get why the airlines have been so strong lately but best not argue with the market.

I love having 15 shares of this stock lol. It sometimes can be a bit of a ride but when it runs like this (not the first time it has since I've owned it) it's fun.

Not all positive for me though. I have cash I could invest and honestly, my picks have been right (fairly easy ones though), but I've been spooked by those articles about a big option deal that is lower than the price the stock is at that come out twice now. Those options deals, I need to start ignoring since I'm going to (mostly) hold anyway. I also probably could've waited a few days on the REIT...I don't even want to look at the price it's at.
 
To think we could of all bought TSLA under 400 a share recently. I didn't have anywhere near enough money in my account the days all these really bottomed.
 
I had some massive gainers today in Facebook and Microsoft and kosmos energy. Got spooked by cpe and sold a while back but oh well. Not a lot of losers today. I’m just scared and waiting for the inevitable pull back I feel is coming.

I am going to remain patient because i ---- the bed selling some really profitable stocks too soon. Owned CPE at .40. BLMN at 4.80 (currently trading at $14 FML) . CPLG at 2.90. DEAC at 11. The list goes on and on.

Lol I still have a little CPE. I sold quote a bit at .55. Can't complain about a profit! But it would be nice to still have the full position now.

So, what's next?
 
Well, the good news is I sold 10k shares of CPE a couple of weeks ago for a 20% profit and bought UCO for what is a 70% loss as of today. ?

I am doing well with AXP at the moment but the hole I dug myself with UCO is a crater.

Somebody's going to have to explain concentration requirements to me. I would like to start a position in Cracker Barrel (which is a good buy still at least to me), but when I went to place my order, it said that this security has special margin requirements. (I was looking to order half soon and wait and see what Q2 earnings look unless the stock dropped below 90 again before Q2 earnings)

I know why some stocks have that, but I'm not exactly sure how to calculate concentration requirements. I cancelled the order because I really don't want to have my orders filled on margin again instead of the money sitting in the account. Especially in the case of a longer term play, maybe I'll put on my adult britches if I want to try some small swing trades.

If I can't get an explanation, then it might be Starbucks it is lol.

For a play that's about 6 months to a year long, maybe longer, SPG looks interesting to me although I haven't seriously considered it. When they get back to normalcy I can see them going back to trading in the 100s.

AVGR might require a touch of patience but it’s lagging wayyyy behind the rest of the pack. A little volume and this one gets crushed out of the ballpark ?
