Yeah I don’t mean to toot my own horn but my warning was only 12 minutes ahead of the NWS smdh

IMO, threat lowering for Charlotte NC metro area but increasing High Point NC area north and east.

Still cloudy here. Maybe that will save us from creating more instability.

I26 east completely blocked in Orangeburg. Trees down. Confirmed tornado! I had a tee time at Orangeburg Country Club today that I cancelled yesterday because of the weather ?

Squall line blasted thru here. Power almost went out. Very strong gust front but the convection was very shallow.... brief heavy rain and not much in the way of CG strikes

Well, either something is going to happen in the next couple of hours here, or we have a bust, or the storms are not coming until later and the watch is going to have to be extended into later tonight.

There was never supposed to be much around the Triangle until a couple of hours before the main squall with some preceding cells that may have rotation, followed by the main event at 6-7pm. That seems to be playing out just fine.

But the current watch here ends at 5. That's my point. Either this will be a bust here, or they are going to have to extend the watch here longer.

Extending the watch is all but guaranteed with the squall. And with the rotating storms out toward Asheboro, things could start to rock and roll here before too long.

Look at radar..nothing close to a bust going on right now whether you get a tornado or not
