One thing very concerning it seems to be clearing immediately behind the rain shield, plenty of time for destabilization

Probably right, I'm just going off of visible sat that shows clearing already behind the rainWRAL's in-house model showed about 3 to 4 hours of clearing before the next round comes through around 6:00 here.

It honestly looks like it did with the last event when storms exploded late at night but instead this is further west and in prime heating and destabilization ... uh ohYou don’t see that type of radar depiction over the Carolinas very often
