99.3 hottest day of the year here
It looks like there is at least a chance that tomorrow is the last 90 degree day of the year for KCLT. It’s funny because a certain poster from Jonesville said last week we would be mid to upper 90s for the next 3 weeks92 here today so nothing crazy. Luckily this looks like the end of summer and I am so happy it’s done

Walking back to my car yesterday, I thought to myself this has to be the hottest day of the year.
Is it normal for Raleigh to have their hottest day of the year in September ?RDU got up to 102 yesterday. Hottest day of the year, I believe (albeit it didn’t feel the hottest since it wasn’t that humid).
No, the hottest weather in Raleigh usually occurs in late July. The high of 102 interestingly enough didn't break the daily record for yesterday, The record was 104 set back in 1954. I've been dubious about the reporting sensor at RDU for some time now but I believe the 102 degree measurement was close to actual yesterday. The all time record high at RDU is 105 which has been recorded on several different occasions. Is it normal for Raleigh to have their hottest day of the year in September ?
No, but I’d guess it isn’t the wildest thing. In 2019, we got up to 100 in early October, which was the first time on record that’s happened. Is it normal for Raleigh to have their hottest day of the year in September ?
The RDU sensor is FoS that 100 wasn't legit or if it was it was legit on the airport grounds and not for the rest of the areaNo, but I’d guess it isn’t the wildest thing. In 2019, we got up to 100 in early October, which was the first time on record that’s happened.
Yeah, I think today might be the last of the 90's for Greensboro this year (I hope). Raleigh probably gets 2-3 more.
Its ridiculous that these are the sensors that we have to hear about on the evening news as being the official readings for an area. The RDU sensor is FoS that 100 wasn't legit or if it was it was legit on the airport grounds and not for the rest of the area
Yes! Good question. It's very normal for RDU to have its hottest day of the year in meteorological fall.Is it normal for Raleigh to have their hottest day of the year in September ?
