Presidential Election 2024

Maybe the Republicans just need to abandon their efforts to eliminate abortion and just give women what they want. Republicans have to somehow get the female vote back.
While they're at it they can give the democrats whatever else they want; more taxes, more restrictions on personal firearms, less school choice, more race division, no borders, free everything for anyone who wants it, sex changes for kids and illegal persons, etc; just to make sure they can still get elected.

No... better to stand for principles and lose then give in and say you've won.

Might as well give in at this point. Otherwise, there will never be another Republican President. The country is only going to get more liberal as the demographics change in the future.

I don't think we'll see the effects of abortion laws outweigh the effects of the tanking economy. States with those laws will likely see efforts to remove those who enacted them at the state-level though.
Dunno we saw a huge rebuke at the polls in 2022 and every state referendum on the abortion issue since then so maybe it's not me that's obsessed but the ones it's affected?

Which part of your medical care are you willing to hand over to the government?

You may be right on the second and third points. Only 1 republican candidate has won the popular vote for pres since 1988, so that has already been happening for decades now. Maybe that is just the world we live in now. But... some of these issues are based on right and wrong, which doesn't change just because the populace does. We cannot just give in on issues like protecting life, caring for our children, knowing who is coming into the country, etc. Maybe we cannot win the battle, be can give them a battle nonetheless.

But the only way you can meet them and battle is by trying to control their lives and telling them how they have to live and quite frankly nobody wants to hear that crap

That very well may be what happens to us all if Harris wins. Just like the old Soviet Union. or like North Korea now.

Where exactly is this 'tanking economy'? Yes, prices are higher than they were during the last year of Trump's administration (also during the global pandemic)... but let's look at the big picture. The U.S. has rebounded at a much faster rate than almost any other developed nation, and GDP growth has consistently surpassed expectations.

Unemployment remains low, hovering around 4%. While it's true that buying a home is more expensive due to higher interest rates, this also means homeowners have built significant equity, boosting household wealth. The stock market is at all-time-highs and has rebounded strongly since 2021/2022. So...those 401ks must be doing fairly well out there.

Inflation is gradually cooling thanks to balanced Fed rate adjustments. I admit, it was stubbornly high for too long, but no one knew the exact right answer during and after covid.

The economy is definitely slowing, but to say it's tanking is an overexaggeration.

It's what would probably happen at least short term if you actually happened to see some serious spending cuts make it through because we've kind of threaded the needle as it is, and I know plenty of people are going to be like "well, it was coming, you shouldn't be spending so much to prop up the economy."

Nope. That is what the left does. For the most part, the right believes in freedom, limited government, and personal responsibility. Sometimes the government may have to step in when too many people lose their moral compass; like with slavery, the sex trade, and the killing of unborn babies. If you see those as control then so be it.

PSA and I'll probably just hush up and leave after that involving my state:

Do not expect Georgia to take long at all at counting this time. I know there are scars from 2020, but if their continuing efforts to change things succeed, they are going to post all the early vote right after polls close (and frankly, this might be all that's needed to tell if the state is going to need to be watched or if you'll be able to pass).

Even if that was not the deal, I would expect the state to take until midnight at the most.

Now Arizona and Nevada...nope. They'll be counting as if they're getting in votes via horse and buggy and I really hope you're not waiting on Arizona here.

Not anymore.....really never actually.

Legalized weed
Right to die
Gay marriage
Abortion

Now you can add
Which classes your child can take in HS
Which books can be read

All things the gop strives to strip away or disallow from the populace.

Go ahead and list off the freedoms the dems want to strip away from you?

Overturning Roe v Wade doesn't eliminate abortion. Trump isn't running on eliminating abortion. That is a lie being perpetuated by the left. If people are stupid enough to believe that and vote solely on that, then we're over as a nation anyway.

Oh I don’t know, the one where they actually forced churches to close during Covid.

Oh I don’t know, the one where they were a couple of SC Justices away from having you fired if you didn’t get a Covid shot?
