Kids who live in states such as Mississippi and West Virginia are screwed.

Also so much focus on "state's rights", I wonder if the GOP just ignores the fact that the articles of confederation failed
 
All dismantling the DoE and removing federal involvement in education will do is widen the education gap between the rich states and poor states. States like California will just continue to do well while most of the south will be screwed. Not to mention that disabled kids will be the most affected.

But then again, caring about poor people and disabled people is woke BS.
 
Genuine question, if the government spends too much? Why don't we just cut down on the military budget just a tiny bit instead of dismantling entire departments? We already have the largest military in the world, we are unlikely to ever see a conflict reach our shores, why do we need a nearly trillion dollar defense budget?

They're already screwed under the DoE.
Giving the power back to the states to handle.

Dept of Education spends a trillion a year and practically has nothing to show for it nationwide.
This was Trump's plan on a video from 9/13/23... outlining the plans to dismantle it.

Not to be that guy but do you really think a state like Mississippi or Alabama, or other states struggling with poverty will really do any better than the federal government will? All getting rid of the DoE will do is allow states to discriminate against certain groups, screw over the disabled, and pretty much end things like pell grants that help kids access college.

The right needs to get over their fear of the federal government

They only makeup 17% of the states budget, yet they dictate everything under the sun using that 17% as leverage. In NC 2024, almost 25% of kids grade K-12 do not attend public school now. Home school,charter or private. Its their (feds) strings attached since 1979 DOE inception that is driving kids out of public education. Got away from just the 3 R's and hijacked with more focus on indoctrination.
