I'm sure this will be about as successful as when the NYPD stopped performing all non-essential duties and the crime rate went down.

I don’t want the police defunded. I want them to be trained to a higher standard and to also learn de-escalation techniques. There’s a documentary on HBO about two Houston cops whose job is to respond to psychiatric calls and such. A great documentary.

Yes, his life certainly was at risk, if he gets hit with a tazer and goes down, the perp has his gun. Bam. Dead. You are very wrong here as well. There really is no gray area on this one. None.

The same officer was involved in a shooting in 2015 that sent a man to the hospital and him and the other 2 officers left the shooting part out of the report....I mean why would they do that.....he has also had been reprimanded for use of force with a firearm in 2016...but I guess none of that factors in with anyone....

As for the cops not doing their job in Atlanta tonight this will come back on them, the people expect them to do their jobs, there will be little sympathy for them from the women who cant get 911 on the line while her husband is beating the hell out of her right now....or the any number of possible deaths that might come from them walking out....the only people that suffer from their walk out is the people they are suppose to protect and serve.

I don’t support defund the police. Haven’t posted that. Also please don’t mention my family the way you just did. That’s not cool.

I don’t see how this scenario above is possible. The victim was running away and there was a second officer present. Also the taser had already been fired before the gunshots were fired.

Well you know when other workers walk out for not being happy with their working conditions most on here would say goodbye someone else will gladly take your job. The fast food worker who wants a living wage isn't as likely to get their sympathy as the the cop
 
I hate the man died but think the DA is just trying to politicize this to get votes. Mabe the cop was trying to shot him low but to do that when both parties are running at full speed is a fools errand. This Police Officer will have his day in court like every other American citizen accused of a crime and then we will get a better sense of his mindset when he does. However the post where someone disparaged a persons intelligence because they were in the military was disgusting to all of us who served and my question to them was "did you serve"?

In reality, China’s economic rise – loaded with currency manipulation and routine intellectual property theft – was anything but a positive development for everyday Americans.


China’s WTO entry and the trade privileges it received despite continuing its exploitative economic practices dealt devastating blows to the American economy, domestic industry, and the working-class citizenry. Following China’s inclusion in the WTO – a move championed by Biden – the United States lost 3.2 million jobs to China from 2001 to 2013, and 2.4 million of those belonged to the manufacturing sector.

Courted by cheap Chinese labor and low production costs, US corporations and business executives like heads of the auto industry increasingly shipped their production overseas to China. As a result, China transformed into the world’s leading manufacturer, and once great industrial capitals across the United States experienced staggering unemployment, faltering infrastructure, and an increase in crime.

When 2015 protests and riots in response to the death of Freddie Grey broke out across Baltimore – one such former industrial heavyweight – John Angelos, COO of the Baltimore Orioles, tweeted: “My greater source of personal concern, outrage, and sympathy beyond this particular case is focused neither upon one night’s property damage nor upon the acts, but is focused rather upon the past four-decade period during which an American political elite have shipped middle class and working-class jobs away from Baltimore and cities and towns around the US to 3rd world dictatorships like China and others plunged tens of millions of good hard-working Americans into economic devastation.”
 
This Bolton book is going to send Trump off the edge I think, he is already super paranoid and thinks his own people are mocking him behind his back ( with good reason because they are ) and the stuff in this book only confirms that. Its going to be a circus and when all these stories come out Trump is going to melt down on twitter like we have never seen before....and his supporters will have to work overtime to spin all the stuff coming out in ways to not make Trump look like what he is....the most corrupt president ever....

Of course a lot of Trump folks will just say its all lies, but we all know its true.....

He has been accused of a lot of fake things, I’ll want to see proof but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was true. I think this happens a lot with both sides. Both parties want help. Trump asked China ( maybe) and the Dems have google, Facebook, Twitter, media.....

You lost me on that one. When have we ever had any President on either side ask a major foreign adversary for help winning reelection? Democrat or Republican?

I understand that fighting back and stealing the officer's weapon escalates the situation tremendously. But this was a bad shoot.

The officer also fired a shot that hit an occupied vehicle during this, then kicked Brooks after killing him. Doesn't seem like someone in control of themselves.

We are all bigots to some point. Anyone that says that they have never been sexist, racist, or any other “ist” is a liar. I’m just as guilty as anyone for having preconceived notions about gender, race, and religion. I’m not innocent. The difference is that I see the disparity and think we should all strive to be better people.
