Depends on how close he was when he pointed it. Most tasers do not shoot projectiles very far and have to make contact with the intended target.
The LEO's present would have known that. That will be a large part of the prosecutions case. I have not watched the video and am of the opinion that theft of the weapon was justification.

Just a quick pop in and pop back out. I spent a week doing private security up in DC during the riots and I was disgusted by what I saw (and I have seen it all). You are getting ready to witness a transformation in the profession like you have never seen and I don't mean in a good way. I have trained LEO's across the pond and back home since leaving service and I can tell you without fail that our police force as a whole has never been better trained than they are now (with obvious exceptions of course). Your best cops are going to leave the profession in mass if this assault on them continues. The job is about to become even more dangerous than it already is due to the utter stupidity of the leadership in these progressive liberal cities and that does nothing but harm the innocent people who respect the police. Its going to be a chain reaction felt all across the country.

Most of those are fake requests too. They bragged about how much data they've gathered too which is what all these are for. Of course the data isn't worth much when they are fake requests for tickets that people have no intention of using.

Most people have no clue or even care to understand the mental difficulties they are experiencing. I saw some break down in DC and it ripped at my soul. Hard nosed cops too. Its a shame. Its difficult to even think about without getting pissed off. Its going to get worse and some folks in certain places are going to get an eye opening display of overbearing violence in the coming months

sounds like a you problem. I can’t imagine who would want to give cops a green light to operate with no rules. Those regulations you seem to have a problem with are obviously needed.
Also cops don’t need atta boys from the media. If they do then they are in the wrong profession.

Imagine working as a cop, working your tail off and putting your life on the line every single day. You work not for the money but for the good of the community. Then this happens and you feel all alone because local leadership and the news media are portraying you as evil and racist. Just because cops are walking away doesn’t automatically mean they are bad/racist cops... more than likely you’re going to lose a lot of good cops because they have no one backing them and I can’t blame them one bit.

Plenty of anti-Trump folks were requesting them and talking about it online. Just like other times they had rallies too. This isn't new.
Also saw that the Trump campaign was putting ads on Craigslist looking for minority actors for an event in Tulsa that could hold signs. Just like other Trump rallies asking for the same.

I don’t think I’d be worried about Trump drawing a crowd, that’s a given. The problem is Biden can’t fill a school auditorium. Enthusiasm gap.
He's just stirring the pot (is that the right phrasing, @LithiaWx ?). Nobody has made a case here, not that I've seen, that cops should operate without oversight and regulation. With the technology that exists today, that should be pretty easy. Cops shouldn't be targets, either from criminals, political systems, or from mobs or the media. They should be treated fairly and respected. But they should also be well-trained, subject to accountability, and held to a very high standard.
Anyone who has a position of authority with the ability to use deadly force against others should not be given free reign and be above the law themselves. But I don't think anyone here is suggesting this.
The notion of disbanding police departments is just plain dumb. Likewise, the notion of f the police is just plain dumb.
On a personal note, I'm grateful for people who choose to be police and protect our communities. Will there be some bad cops on the streets? You bet. But that will be the case with anything anywhere. They face pressures and situations that I will never know...and don't want to know. I am glad there are those willing to do it.

Union's are a problem. Another problem is the emphasis put on diversity within many departments. There are people that have no business being in a high stress job because "numbers" have to be filled. Like I said before, training has never been better. Recruitment of qualified people is going to be an issue going forward. Its a mess....
the original post I responded to today discussed regulations. I was continuing from there. I’m not trying to stir a pot. I haven’t accused anyone of being a racist as was said earlier and I haven’t said all cops are bad. A lot of people are jumping to conclusions here.
Ok. It's hard to keep track of the jumpy information flow and distill the idea of a broken chain of comments sometimes.
Anyway, you just said a lot of things you aren't/weren't for. What would you be for?
banning choke holds, more training for officers, less use of deadly force.
