If you want to wear a confederate flag on your clothes etc you can no one is saying you cant do any of that, just dont be upset when people make assumptions about you or your belief.....however publicly/federally funded locations should remove confederate flags/monuments etc, maybe put them into a museum or garden type location so those that want to view them can. As for corporations they need to do what is best for their brands and that's up to their leadership but we all know what they should do.....
I dont think we should erase history either, but don't glorify those who attempted to destroy our nation primarily over the rights to retain the practice of slavery. The folks going after Washington and Jefferson etc are going to far IMO, these men were not big on slavery etc in fact they were fairly vocal against it, however both men also owned hundreds of slaves so I mean I can understand why some people see them as hypocrites.....Washington upon his death for instance freed all his slave in his will....and included a clause that all the older freed slaves be cared for by his estate.....however asking why he did not free them before his death is a valid question IMO.
Equal rights is already guaranteed and should apply to everyone regardless or race, religion. gender, sexual orientation, etc....and lets face it we are not anywhere near there as a society yet...
