Who is more of a coward? The Dems investigating Trump possibly extorting Ukraine to help him keep power or a spoiled rich kid getting out of the draft four times because his daddy paid a doctor to say he had bone spurs? There is no doubt the Dems have it out for him but he deserves it.

He deserves it? And this is your reasoning? You can't be serious. Im pretty sure asking Ukraine to investigate corruption by DEMOCRATS is not a bad thing for our country. In fact I applaud him for it. The only part of your post that isn't whining is the fact that you readily admit that the Democrats have it out for him. They have since Day 1 they have ZERO INTEREST in actually doing anything positive for the people that voted for them. Makes you wonder why these folks continue to do so.......

Like the Republicans worked with Obama? I'm not whining just pointing out the president is a coward. Dodged the draft four times. Its more than just a phone call, he is accused of withholding 400 million taxpayer dollars to get dirt on a political rival.

Accused.....thats the real barrier here now isn't it. He was also accused of Russian collusion too remember? Remind me again how that turned out for you Trump haters. So they accused him of something else. This surprises nobody because thats pretty much what liberals do. Accuse, blame, lie.....Im sure I missed a few. So lets vote to impeach and move it to the Senate where he has the right to face that whistleblower

I was really hoping to hear your rebuttal to some of the above arguments. :(
You got them visually ... there's only so much teachin' one can do ... sometimes the class has to go outside and run ... clear their heads and then ... ignore minutia and maybe look at the real (and I mean real) facts regarding what's really (and I mean really) going down ... but rebutting stubborn and blindfolded ... in either direction ... --> a futile exercise ...

RC ... BTW ... I'm just one with an opinion and absolutely nothing more ... would just like to believe the opinion is based on a bit more than emotion ...

I'm not saying he did what they are saying he did. I'm just saying if he held money back until the Ukraine started an investigation, that's an abuse of power. Should he be impeached? That's a question I will leave for the Senate.

That's not a Senate question ... The House makes a referral; the Senate decides the verdict ... Articles of Impeachment come from the House ...

If he was "really" guilty of anything this would have already been voted on. Impeachments are not popular with most Americans because its bad for business. Pelosi knows this will end badly and when it does it will empower Trump's 2020 run. Im guessing the next move will be hoping for a recession which tells you just how screwed up the left really is

I'd really suggest reading the Constitution, or even an 8th grade civics book, or maybe a Wikipedia article, but here's it in a nutshell ...

In the House of Representatives

  • The House Judiciary Committee decides whether or not to proceed with impeachment. If they do...
  • The Chairman of the Judiciary Committee will propose a resolution calling for the Judiciary Committee to begin a formal inquiry into the issue of impeachment.
  • Based on their inquiry, the Judiciary Committee will send another resolution composed of one or more "Articles of Impeachment" to the full House stating that impeachment is warranted and why or that impeachment is not called for.
  • The Full House (probably operating under special floor rules set by the House Rules Committee) will debate and vote on each Article of Impeachment.
  • Should any one of the Articles of Impeachment be approved by a simple majority vote, the President will be "impeached." However, being impeached is sort of like being indicted for a crime. The president will remain in office pending the outcome of the Senate impeachment trial.

In the Senate

  • The Articles of Impeachment are received from the House.
  • The Senate formulates rules and procedures for holding a trial.
  • The trial will be held with the president represented by his lawyers. A select group of House members serves as "prosecutors." The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (currently John G. Roberts) presides with all 100 Senators acting as the jury.
  • The Senate meets in private session to debate a verdict.
  • The Senate, in open session, votes on a verdict. A 2/3 supermajority vote of the Senate will result in a conviction.
  • The Senate will vote to remove the President from office.
  • The Senate may also vote (by a simple majority) to prohibit the President from holding any public office in the future.

I'm well aware of how impeachment works. Its a given he will be impeached by the house at this point. I was only stating that it's up to the Senate to decide. Thanks for posting this for anyone who didn't take 8th grade civics

He does not have the right to face his whistleblower.....whistleblower laws are very clear and designed specifically to allow people to come forward without being named......so that's not going to happen unless the whistleblower agrees to it.....

Trump isn't just accused of asking the Ukraine to investigate Biden, he 100% did it by his own admission and release of the call we have proof of such a action......that in of itself is illegal and unethical and violates his oath of office and is enough to impeach him on.....the reaction of his admin such as trying to bury the call, and the fact that Bolton told Hill and others to tell the lawyers to CYA, the fact that numerous people told the whistleblower about the breach in law and ethics is all proof that not only was Trump in the wrong but they all knew it and knew how serious of a breech he had committed. Now you can pretend this is all liberal lies etc just to get Trump if you want to but most of the people involved and coming forward are Republicans...

Bill Taylor's opening statement is extremely damning for Trump IRT quid pro quo, if Trump used aid and access to force the Ukrainians to investigate Biden I am sure you agree that is a impeachable offense that would have you demanding they be impeached if it was say Hillary or Obama who had done it.....
,
Instead you see the far right trying to marginalize Taylor who has more integrity in his little toe than Trump has in his entire body......its sad that the GOP the party of morals and family values has sunk to the low it has with Trump at the helm....

Sorry if this goes to "trial", in the Senate after the House votes to impeach he can subpoena witnesses, including the whistleblower. This whistleblower has deep democratic ties and once that is in full public view, boom. Honestly it's another reason Pelosi is really between a rock and a hard place about calling for a vote. Plus she's going to drag this out till next year, its political no two ways about it.

To sum it up, it is politics on both sides dominating most actions. We really need to start over in some way. I’m so sick of it. For all practical purposes, we’re two nations in one country rather than “united” states. If folks pay attention, they’ll see my posts are all over the board as opposed to constantly taking one side of the other, which is how 90+% of posts are here and probably at most political forums. Each side treats the other side as their biggest enemy in the world rather than true enemy leaders of certain other countries. I’d much rather have the two sides working together again like they used to to a larger extent than today. That’s about the only way we can become “united” states again.

I'll take my chances with a pres that wants to lean on foreign leaders to investigate corruption, regardless of the optics, and nominates constitutionalists for the SCOTUS, then any socialist Democrat that wants to take every ounce of freedom we have any day and twice on Sunday.

If this goes to the Senate, YES the whistleblower can be subpoenaed by the Senate Judiciary Chair under oath. That is indeed a trial in front of Chief Justice Roberts where the President actually gets to face his accuser or accusers. He or she is protected during articles of impeachment if he or she so chooses. If you think that is the case during the Senate trial, sit back and watch
