I got 2-3 inches of snow/sleet/freezing rain out of that pattern never seen so much snow on the roads like that and it lasted for a week.

And then 2012-2017 sucked for the I-20 corridor before the big Dec 17 snow.

The good news is that based on the NCEP MJO forecasts, we’re supposed to go into phase 6 of the MJO, and luckily miss 4 and 5. However, it looks like there is potential to go into phase 7, which @Webberweather53 has alluded to several times in the past for being our single greatest phase for snow.
I wish eps looked more like the gefs and geps with a piece of the ridge nosing north of Barrow into the Arctic so we could maybe dislodge or tap into the pv and get that into central Canada

I think in that stretch of winters we got 9 inches in total. Really colored my view of what winter is supposed to be like.
Also the overnight runs of the gefs and geps have a little warming at 10mb over siberia and a squeezing of the SPV. If we can at least disturb it and keep it from spinning like a buzzsaw over the pole we might be able to get some HLB and a payoff later

Unfortunately, it's phase 7 in January not December :/
The GEFS extended control is also nice at the end of December.
