If your looking for silver lining. At work we all come in so early, we usually get a 3 -4 week window before and after summer solstice, where its not just pitch black dark. Today was a noticeable change for the 1st time. Still got 6-7 weeks of sultry weather here to go, but its atleast heading in right direction. Honestly its not been bad here at all. Normal run of mill climo Heat,Humidity at best this spring /summer.
Bet that will end up busting high by several degrees.

Yeah, these models have been constantly too hot in the extended. Especially the GFS. We forget these are the same terrible models we look at in winter.
Randolph county if I recall. Just south of Greensboro. Believe he works at/near GBO airport.
I mean this is incredible video but also kinda dumb, oh my!
Always take shelter near the window during a tornado. Good rule of thumb there.

Bad timing here for the past 10 days. The MCS from the northwest die after sunset and we get nothing but a few cloudy mornings. If I don't see rain tomorrow or Saturday, it looks like another 7 day stretch of nothing. Gonna start getting really dry with highs in the 90's. Maybe Greenville, SC can ship some of that water down here?
I haven't had much rain since April anyways, the drought monitor is definitely wrong for my area.
Was hoping to get over 10 inches of rain for July now I'm really starting to think it won't rain again this month. This big western ridge is great if you time everything perfect but it's meager if you are missing

Nice break from the heat today. Currently 77.
Absolutely hammered here in the past hour. Estimate 60-70mph winds. Power went out immediately and hasn't come back.

38.7 mph wind gust with .64” of rain. We are pretty sheltered from the wind so that gust is impressive.
.5" here, definitely a mess with all the wind gusts.
