Ridge really wants to hang out per 12z GFS. We finally get some sub 60 lows but only because it’s the end of October. In any case it will feel good.

Brent, keep them shorts out this winter buddy. It's going to be one of those winters. Tennessee Storm was driving a golf cart in January 2012 up and down the street with shorts and tee shirt and about 77 degrees

Oh I don't doubt there will be warm spells... Remember I lived in Dallas for 6 years ? I can remember many times wearing shorts or flipping on the A/C
But honestly last year wasn't even that great either til February happened. I think it's way too early to try and figure out winter is my point. Even if there are warm spells there will be cold too
And another thing about February I still remember the forecasts being above normal

Oh boy are you right about that. Those 2 weeks were something else. I will never forget the Carolina Crusher as long as I live. 1 foot of snow here and I felt cheated LOL. 18-24 from Union county NC up to Raleigh. Same thing in 2004 except that the biggest totals were concentrated to the south and southeast of Charlotte.
That cool GOA and warm waters near the MC isn’t ideal for winter ?
Apparently warm waters up there aren't ideal either. Maybe one day, we'll figure it out.

Certainly have to watch for isolated flash flooding tonight models picking up on areas who could see heavy rain for a longer period of time .. luckily worst hits overnight so hopefully not too many impacted on the roadways at least
Wow this area has already seen 6 inches and it’s just stationary 
Back building looks fairly healthy here I wonder how much rain will pile up by morning time. I suspect we could even go higher than 1-2 inches at this rate

I’ve noticed that at least for N GA, with each new GFS run that frontal passage will be providing a nice shot of autumn weather by next weekend. Let’s hope it holds…

Ended the event slightly under at 4.12". Still a lot of rain for a few days in October but not as extreme as the 5 to 6 they expected. Had everything to do with the rain splitting into AL and SC vs streaming through GA like the modeling initially suggested
