9” lollipop of snow today SW of me. Thundersnow, and the heavy swath of snow, basically overlayed the strongest winds of the August derecho
Hail machine go brrrrr, this could change if gfs is being to progressive, but this has hail setup written all over it with long straight Hodographs/solid deep layer shear, good advection of steep mid level lapse rates and cool 500mb temps 
Lows in CHA forecast to be 12-14 degrees above avg (48) for the next 6 days. Maybe a freeze before Halloween though, if the long range is right.
Euro would be a epic severe weather outbreak, lol, soundings east of CLT/VA
So far this October the highest temp has been 84, last Oct, 100... In Knoxville, the highest this Oct, 80, last Oct, 96. We might get close to 84 this week before the cooler air gets here. Hopefully the last 80s until March/April.
Both of the ops models show a big front in the 9-10 day range, but the ensembles don't. Seen this movie before

Better get used to it. Its only the beginning sadly.
^^Yeah, I'm hoping Halloween is cool and dry. If the front comes through as currently shown on the models we should be good.

Snow yesterday, thunderstorms with the warm front tomorrow, highs in mid 70s Thursday, more snow and lower 40s Sunday and Monday! Feel like I’m in Denver
I mean if it's going to be 80 it would be nice to have dews in the 40s

Yeah, our position does suck honestly . Warm enough to rain, but cold enough to miss out on any exciting storms. Johnston county and Harnett county are so much better .
