Pattern March Thread

GEFS really starting to blow up the phase 5-6/MC forcing idea again, pretty strong forcing signal on the VP maps E43407D1-CF9F-44D0-BFE0-5080D0B92FFE.png
 
DFW made it to an intra-hour high of 80*F again today. It was overcast through early afternoon before the clouds scattered out with the passage of the dry front
 
I put my boat in the water today. TVA was still spilling pretty good at Wilson Dam so the current was crazy and the wind was up so we couldn’t stay in the main lake but the creek was good. Just wish I could have caught a few fish but it was a nice day to be out.

I’d say next Sunday looks the most wintry day . 52/27 on the 10 day. Very wintry .

12z cmc shifted SE from its 0z run toward the 6z/12z gfs which would put your area into the potential for something briefly wintry. It'll be interesting to see if the Euro goes that way as well

For the deep SE, an Arctic airmass will cool and dry us down considerably starting Saturday morning per GFS or Saturday afternoon per Euro. After a cold Saturday night 3/12 (freeze in much of the area though little or no frost due to dewpoints well down into the teens), Sunday 3/13 will be delightful with highs well BN/only in the 50s to near 60 while dewpoints stay way down in the teens meaning RH near 15-18%.

Then a frosty cold night Sun night with lows in the 30s. Monday 3/14 should be another delightfully dry day with highs warming to the 60s my area to low 70s your way. Then cool Monday night with rising dewpoints followed by warmer Tue 3/15. So, a short but potent chill! Looking forward to it! Looking more and more likely now but still not a definite this far out and considering the fakeout of 2/28-3/2.

The Gfs has been showing some kind of winter weather off and on for over a week during this time period. It’s only 5 days out now for Middle Tennessee as this runs shows snow starting to fall between 6-9 Pm Friday night. Still a long ways to go but if this is still showing up Tuesday I’ll really start getting excited.

Yeah there's not much excitement since cold shots have faded over a week before, but a solid day of GEFS improvement is something to at least look at. Some nice members too1646623019306.png
