Yeah no cat 5, but its sure strong enough to be like one.
Honestly is there a difference between 150 and 157 ?
I think they could reclassify this to Category 5.

In this situation, no. A strengthening hurricane like this is putting down plenty of Cat 5 gusts and is probably more dangerous than a steady state Cat 5.
I have a question. If winds are 153 mph do they round it up to 155 ? I'm not sure how that works.
TWC says the northern eyewall is making landfall.

The big thing is the strengthening as it comes in which is unusual in the Northern Gulf

Only storms that were stronger at landfall were the Labor Day Hurricane and Camille, Michael will be talked about for a long time.
Things are getting crazy where Brett Adair is in Mexico Beach. Can't believe he is driving.
SE eyewall cooling again. Wherever that comes ashore will be wicked beyond imagination.

The radar presentation of this storm is so beautiful. If there's one thing I've learned these last two tropical seasons, it's that you can't underestimate how quickly these storms can get their acts together when the right conditions are there.
Per usual they will be playing catch up

NHC has been more conservative strength wise once this moves inland as well. A lot of intensity models show a Cat 1 through at least hour 18.
Can someone link or provide a description on where to find the live stream?

I honestly don't blame the models, I would suspect they're maybe factoring in normal climatology for October, although even if you throw that out this is unprecedented for when it's still summer. But this shouldn't be too surprising because of summer like weather sticking around for so long. There was nothing stopping Michael from getting this strong.

What we've learned from Florence and Michael is that intensity forecasts are not very reliable. Track is much more reliable.
