Tropical Major Hurricane Florence

The EPS is tightly clustered over eastern NC, one near Myrtle Beach, and stragglers from Charleston & points south. I wouldn't sound the all clear yet in Georgia but we're taking steps in the right direction.

Some ots solutions this run, so maybe all hope is not lost....

Interestingly, this is after the mean is slightly further S the first couple of days like its operational. On the 0Z EPS, most members were N of 25.0 at 60W. Now, on the 12Z EPS only ~1/2 are N of 25.0 W then.

Yours keeps showing the run before for some reason.

I just cleared my cache to see if that helps....for whatever reason it's correct if you view it on the computer but incorrect when viewed in tapatalk. I might stop posting pics

I thought some posts said it would be a cat 2 at landfall.
FORECAST POSITIONS AND MAX WINDS

INIT 09/1500Z 24.4N 56.3W 65 KT 75 MPH
12H 10/0000Z 24.5N 57.4W 80 KT 90 MPH
24H 10/1200Z 24.9N 59.3W 95 KT 110 MPH
36H 11/0000Z 25.6N 61.7W 105 KT 120 MPH
48H 11/1200Z 26.4N 64.5W 120 KT 140 MPH
72H 12/1200Z 29.0N 70.8W 125 KT 145 MPH
96H 13/1200Z 32.2N 75.8W 120 KT 140 MPH
120H 14/1200Z 35.0N 78.5W 85 KT 100 MPH...INLAND

This suit you?

I'd be far more concerned about making sure there's enough provisions, batteries, and life essentials on hand for 7 - 10 days than whether she's a Cat 2 ... but just sayin' ...

18z NAM is running and through hour 39 no major changes other than slightly weaker ridging. It’s not a good model for the tropics but can sometimes be useful for picking up 5H changes.

That’s bad enough , why does it seem like some people want this to be as bad as possible ? When opal came through here we were without power for 17 days . It’s absolutely miserable

Wonder how long my hotel will be out of power ?

Probably a week+. If you're going, maybe go there early and buy a generator if you can find one in stock. And get lots of fuel. Then, maybe you can sell it afterward? Or can they be rented?? And generator may not be able to handle AC.
I'm being silly as I hope you don't do this to yourself.

I dunno where these posts about a Cat 2 landfall are coming from its well inland by then

Maybe we'll get lucky and it'll weaken before landfall like other hurricanes have but that is not what the models or the NHC says right now

I love weather. Honestly I'll be smart and go probably further inland. I'll have lots of supplies etc.

Very wise point. It's not a good idea to go into the storm and take all the risks associated with it. Hurricanes are no joke let alone major ones, which present a much more hazardous situation. More than likely, you could not be back for awhile.
Sounds good.

Go for it. I was in the eye of Harvey that storm was absolutely unreal one of the most amazing experiences in my lifetime. Despite what some people say on here, imo, the reward is definitely worth the risks. I’m trying to go but idk if I can change my test date which is annoying

Personally I don't think anyone is wishing for this to be a Cat anything.... sometimes comments get misunderstood.

Yes, I was actually hoping the cat 2 comments were right and it was going to be weaker at landfall now.
