GFS going nuts on the accumulations for both systems combined. LolAnother snowstorm on Wednesday lolView attachment 74033
Enjoy it man! This next week or so of weather could be once in a life time for y'all out there!GFS going nuts on the accumulations for both systems combined. LolView attachment 74037
According to this, my backyard is ice and front yard is rain. #winningThe V16-GFS brought freezing rain much further south for the Monday night / Tuesday morning time frame in the CAD regions. The new version has double the vertical resolution so it should handle CAD much better than the current GFS.View attachment 74036
I think its safe to say Dallas will be shut down from Monday to at least Thursday.I am shook lol
Increasing forcing for ascent, along with a sufficiently deep
cold air will lead to all precipitation to fall as snow as we move
into Sunday evening and Monday morning. Heavy snowfall appears
likely during this time period, with widespread snow amounts of
2"-5" across Central and 3-7" inches across North Texas. In
addition to the snow, winds in excess of 25-30 mph could lead to
borderline blizzard conditions during the early Monday morning
hours.

I’m in Tuscaloosa too, any chance you think this system could shift further southeast so our front and backyards are snow/ice?According to this, my backyard is ice and front yard is rain. #winning

Honestly I think we are right on the border for freezing rain (not much) but it only takes a little to cause havoc. You just never know with these shallow arctic air masses. I definitely would keep a close eye on the forecasts over the weekend.I’m in Tuscaloosa too, any chance you think this system could shift further southeast so our front and backyards are snow/ice?

I’d be completely shocked if this isn’t the trend going towards beginning of the week. You’re not gonna drive a LP into a HP/airmass as being modeled. Just ain’t gonna happen. 1/2 cup of modeling + 1/2 cup of common sense and historical climoWell bleep per brick View attachment 74041View attachment 74042
Both, but looks like it will be much worse North and West.So for the people staying in Tuscaloosa and western parts of central Alabama is this the case where as we need to pay attention to the weather or is this just to early to know if this is just going to be a cold rain?
Thank goodness that precip falls prior to those shown temps.
And so it begins lololWell bleep per brick View attachment 74041View attachment 74042

it's below freezing here for thatThank goodness that precip falls prior to those shown temps.
Here's the GEFS 500 vort trend the last 10 runs. As inconsistent & uncertain as some of the operationals have been, this trend is rock steady & favors continued NW shifts here.

Precip total is 6 hours prior to time stamp....which is why HSV only shows .34 inches of ZR.it's below freezing here for that

Maybe one day we can experience what a true Arctic outbreak is.Lol no words anymoreView attachment 74057
Has Dallas ever been under a Blizzard Warning or experienced actual blizzard conditions?I am shook lol

Brent, I guess you'll get in on a whole lot of action over the next week at least. So happy for you man!I know they have never issued a blizzard warning
I think the closest thing may have been the Christmas Eve 2009 blizzard to the NW of Dallas
Hopefully we can keep this up so we trend towards severe
