They back the jet up to the sensor every once in awhile.
97/74 at the house, although the station is in the back yard in the grass and not on the tarmac next to the fire pit.

Reached 93 today and have turned overcast for the last couple of hours with storms heading this way. It's dark outside with thunder in the distance so hopefully we can keep putting a dent in the heat. Things are dry but not nearly as bad as you head east towards Charlotte and the coast.

DISCUSSION...Radar mosaic and 10-km CAPPI reflectivity shows several
clusters of strong to severe thunderstorms from parts of central VA
south-southwest into the Upstate of SC. The airmass ahead of these
storms is very unstable (2500-3500 J/kg MLCAPE). The hot surface
temperatures (near 100 deg f) late this afternoon coupled with
dewpoints in the lower 70s are combining to foster an environment
featuring steep low-level lapse rates and high PW. The mean
west-northwesterly flow around the mid-level high over the TN Valley
will favor southeast storm motions. Water-loaded downdrafts capable
of isolated to widely scattered gusts (45-65 mph) will be common
with the more intense cores. Pockets of wind damage will likely
result with gusts approaching severe limits.

Yeah it is especially since Charlottes only crop is crime , traffic , bad football , and couldesacs. Don’t need rain to grow those ! What a waste !

I lucked out with a nice storm here . A miracle really . I’ll take it . Though really I missed out on most of it just to the sw in Wendell .

I hope my car survives the hail
0.5 today. Exactly 1 inch the last 2 days.
I would be worried about drought if our next 7 days didn’t look like this. But it does look like this so I feel good.

Have gotten just over 2” the last 3 days. Hopefully we can keep this up for another couple of days
I got to drive into this storm coming west on Hwy 74 in eastern Union County… the lightning was unreal. Have already picked up .65” and still pouring… this afternoon .98” with the MCS last night. I only had 1.91” the entire month of June and will likely pass that this evening.

Yea we have had 3 good storms since the first. Lost a tree in another storm late June. No idea how much rain.

Turning into a good rain event for northeastern nc. Northeastern wake has been rocking for 2 hours straight . Under a flash flood warning .
Had two good storms and rain. Finally a win.
Looks and sounds like a third storm is here now. Lots of thunder and lightning.
Some impressive downburst winds heading this way, let's see what happens

SD is awfully quite lol.

Probably the heaviest storm of the Summer moving through right now. With this rainfall for this month has already surpassed all of Junes rainfall total less than a week into July.
