Pattern Juggernaut June

Seems as if the storms inflow is sucking in some of birdmans drugs
Start a thread. Need to run an experiment to see if tornadic supercells can form along the southernmost extent of an outflow boundary when a 1,000lb tractor trailer full of Scott’s turf builder is facing northeast toward a crescent moon

May I start a sub thread focusing on Meadowfiew Drive? The rain looks particularly heavy on that street at the moment

Very interesting day here weather wise. Had over 1.5 inches of rain here, which was much needed. High here was 69.1, which seems quite crazy to not even hit 70 on a June day around here.

Conditions have calmed around here over the last few hours, but a bit of new action is starting to form in the form of small showers around the metro area. Actually had one hit me about 30 minutes ago, which was a nice surprise.

Meanwhile I am very curious about this more organized action that has formed on the AL/GA border. More downpours incoming?9C589D97-0429-43CE-9D4E-2C289DAD4B46.png

Further direct (or redirect) your attention to this (also in WIKI) ... just drag the map to your neck of the woods and choose whatever variable suits you (wind, precip, temp, radar etc., ) ... very good stuff to study current dynamics ...

Very handy anytime, but particularly so in topical season ... "are we there yet?" ...

Very awesome! Thanks!

Unless today produces something, this big rain event will end up giving me less than an inch of rain. I usually pull against big rain events in the summer, but once the forecast causes me to change my outdoor plans, it might as well rain.

Nice disturbance east of Florence this morning with scattered showers developing in the coastal plain and parts of central nc already. Wonder if that disturbance will be enough to concentrate a heavy area of rain that may reach my area and the triangle late in the afternoon.

I was expecting a washout all day the way the forecast was worded. Currently at the Carolina Mudcats game and not a drop yet. But after almost 8 inches here yesterday in Zebulon, they could use a break.

Well, starting to get darker here now. Maybe we'll get some scattered storms after all.

Currently it's raining the hardest it has in probably a month. This is a major storm and I'm surprised it's not severe warned but I've said so on strong storms at times.

Dallas reported a 71 MPH wind gusts.

CNN's reporting that a crane collapsed from the high winds and 2 people are injured.

The bottom fell out in the 6th inning but didn't last long. The coverage today is almost nothing compared to yesterday.

No clue what my total is over the last 5 days but I know it’s not even close to what the models were showing #disappointed

weird, little thunderstorm, almost looked like It was pulling inflow instead of it being a gust front, also had some striated patterns at times, looks like I’m winning with stratiform rain again tho as it’s heading away from me 418B23D4-B323-402C-957E-8159A5E0FDD3.jpeg

This just proves dry air aloft can create pretty violent thunderstorms, but man that’s extreme amounts of downdraft cape View attachment 20339

Yeah, you don't see an overall volatile sounding like that often.

The only saving grace is that the storms are outflow driven at this point. However, while that diminishes the straight line winds threat somewhat, it also heightens the tornado risk somewhat.

@SD Yo, we ought to be doing pretty well for a while!
