Pattern Juggernaut June

Ok, but if it wasn't severe, then not having a watch seems like a decent call. I've had a lot of non-severe storms so far this year when not under a watch. I've had some heavy rain also when not under a flood watch.

My point is that I have had stronger storms the past few years when not under a watch, and that Wake has had more severe weather when not under a watch versus when we are.

I guess FFC said "---- it" with the 12z sounding today, but here's the sounding out of BMX. Incredibly moist all the way up to 500mb.

It has been raining steady since around 6AM outside of a window after 11, temp has dropped to 68F. I'll be interested to see the totals across the area, it looks like south and east it gets real tropical. We haven't had much thunder up this way. One of GDOT's HUB buildings near the intersection of 285 and 75 took a direct lighting hit and fried everything.

Looks like the rain completely missed Chapel Hill. Watching UNC and Auburn playing baseball on TV, and doesn't look like it rained at all there. And the sun is coming out here at the house.

This band is going to be almost a complete miss here. If this next batch misses this event is done here. Everything tomorrow will be I-77 and east. Monday will be dry everywhere except maybe the beaches. This low is moving out earlier than expected.

For all this talk about how much rain the Triangle is getting, I sure haven't received anything measurable here in Chatham. Wake is being greedy with it. Its all been east/northeast of Jordan Lake.

Static Air Sink Anomaly gotchu

Finally about to get some action, interesting becuase it doesn’t look supercellular at all on radar, but seems like it’s getting a beavers tail that just won’t go away, I guess increased helicity is helping it FF79575C-520A-4B48-95D7-85AFCA07CAB5.jpeg
