The moisture is fine on the ICON...it's the cold air that's having a hard time.
A lot of that will depend on how quickly the changeover can occur. I like that bullseye near Jackson, MS.
Yeah, I know. If it's anything similar to the system this time last year, the changeover will likely be quick. My memory is a little foggy, but I don't remember us getting a lot of rain prior to the changeover here, but I could be wrong. I know we dropped from around 40 into the 20s within just a few hours though. The biggest difference between this one and last year will be timing. Last year the precip moved in late evening (after 7-8pm) and this so far will be mid afternoon.
Gfs looks like the 12z version of itself, energy slightly slower
0z GFS has more moisture this run.

No wonder we cant get a wave of LP to develop on the fropa ?

CMC is not lacking with moisture, not sure about temps yet
It can take a longer time for the colder air to "reach" over the mountains.
Another good hit by the GFS.

Widespread 1-3 inches in MS/AL. Western areas of ATL metro gets a nice hit...eastern areas mostly shafted...cold air wasn't issued as much as a lack of moisture.

Where you headed? Lafayette doesn't look like a sweet spot on this run
